Ok, so, I know I haven’t blogged in awhile. We had problems with our last website, but we’ve got the kinks worked out with this new one. It’s a brand new cyber day and here we are!
September is my favorite time of year because I love the cooler weather, football begins, hockey begins, the kids are in school, and I just love watching the seasons change. But along with all the changes come some really cool stuff happening at Emmaus. We are starting new community groups, a new sermon series (RED Letter Blogs: The Parable of Jesus), and new people are showing up!
With all this new stuff happening at Emmaus, I keep thinking about what God is saving us to, not what He is saving us from. Ya, I know Jesus saves us from (insert atrocity here), but He is saving us to a whole new way of living life. He is saving us to an incredible way of experiencing the fullness of who He is. He is saving us to join Him in redeeming the world. I want to live this kind of life!
As the weather and Emmaus transitions into the fall, my prayer (for the moment) is that we will not be an ambivalent people. That we won’t “play it safe”. But, that we will say, “God, we want all of you…in your fullness.” God is saving us to a purposeful life in Him. What more is there?
