our story

Emmaus Church was birthed in the heart of Gary Chupik, our lead guy.  Gary didn’t dream about starting a church his whole life, but knew his life would continue to be characterized as “restless” until he lived out his passion. So, leaving a fantastic church in Salem, OR (Court Street Christian Church), Gary set out for Seattle in pursuit of the dream to start Emmaus Church.  Since then, we’ve used word of mouth, craigslist, and a whole lot of other ways to tell people about Emmaus.  Our passion is to love God, love others, and serve the world.  We hope you’ll visit soon!
