child dedications

It’s about Jesus, both for parents and for children.

Child Dedication at Emmaus is a practice in which parents make an honest commitment to raising their child(ren) in the Christian faith. This service typically includes a Scripture reading, prayer, and a series of vows by parents. If desired, parents and families may personalize this service.  For example, it might include blessings or prayers from grandparents or incorporating meaningful songs and/or other creative elements.

When a child is old enough and makes the choice to follow Jesus for themself, they have the opportunity to declare their commitment to Jesus through baptism. Children being baptized at Emmaus must understand what baptism means and must be able to declare their intention to follow the way of Jesus.
